1.  CO-CREATORS WITH THE DIVINE

God will not do for us what we can do for ourselves.  We are not created as puppets to be manipulated and controlled.  The Holy One does not force us to make certain decisions or to take specific actions, but honors us as co-workers and gives us free-will.

We are created as junior-partners, ambassadors, and co-creators with the Almighty .  The work is not complete until we fulfill God’s divine plan and destiny in our lives by expressing and manifesting “God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.”

As we pray, listen, hear and act, we receive the abundant life;  all the good our Father/Mother God has already provided (created) for us, and whose “good pleasure it is to give us the kingdom.”

Let us fulfill God’s divine plan for us.  Let us pray, listen and work, resting in the Holy One, waiting confidently and expectantly, alert and doing our part.  Thus we discover that we are God’s answer to the needs of humankind.

It is our joy, privilege and responsibility to transform God’s dream for us into a working, living reality.

You are greater than you know.  You are of more value to God than you believe possible.

Let us believe enough to act, to start now on a holy journey of love and faith, obeying our Lord Jesus’ commands, “Feed the hungry” and “Only believe (and act as though you believe) and you shall see the glory of God” manifested in and through you.

2.

Dear fellow servers of God, humanity and inspire-ers,

The Word of God is merely words to you and me until we study, pray, listen, ponder and nurture the words, putting the Word into our own words, utilizing and applying them in our daily living. God's purpose is that we incarnate the Word, re-habit ourselves into a life that expresses the attitudes, thoughts and concepts of the Word in our daily living. Then, that we share the Word by example and model to others, so by contagion, teaching and training, we initiate small communities of renewal groups that support each other in abiding in the love of Christ.

As I pray daily, I ask myself:

1. Can I do more in living out in my daily life the attitudes and the life teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ? Am I becoming more "poor in spirit" and becoming more child-like in wonder, awe and openness to learn and change?

2. Am I more filled with a spirit of compassion and justice and willingness to be Christ's channel for healing and assuaging of the desperateness, terror, hunger, loneliness, sense of worthlessness and guilt of most of my fellowman/woman?

3. Am I daily being aware of how I can share more with others the forgiveness, peace, abundance, wholeness and caring love God is pouring upon me daily? Am I being God's server and facilitator?

To quote Martin Luther King, "…imagine what the world will be like when we see God's goodness etched in our enemies. The command to love one's enemy is an absolute necessity for our survival."

This is my dream:

To encourage and support people
To know they are spiritual beings
in the world,
And that they can co-create with God
To sustain themselves in the world.

Wherever we go in the world,
We will look for the persons in that area
Who can become role models
For their world.

We will search out
and connect with people
Who want to be role models
For spiritual living
Which contributes to
Their total well-being
And to those in their communities.

Del's article for CFO's Fellowship Messenger, Spring 2005

The Word of God is merely words to you and me until we study, pray, listen, ponder and nurture the words, putting the Word into our own words, utilizing and applying them in our daily living.

God’s purpose is that we incarnate the Word, re-habit ourselves into a life that expresses the attitudes, thoughts, concepts of the Word in our daily living.

Then, that we share the Word by example and model to others, so by contagion, teaching and training we initiate small communities of renewal groups that support each other in abiding in the love of Christ and letting God bring forth, step by step, this manifested Purpose and Power lived out in communities of New Jerusalem.

To alone have a goal for a great CFO international organism is not sufficient for God’s Purposes. God wants changed lives, clearer visions, deeper commitments to living lives of love. God's intent for us is a vital assurance that we are an infused part of the Body of Christ, linked together, welded in oneness. In willing obedience to God, we abandon ourselves to follow the example of Jesus' love all the way, into a unity and oneness in God and a new awareness.

The road map says, “Feed the hungry, alleviate poverty, suffering and pain, not as a goal in itself, but as a most important intent of God to lead us to God's Self and into full compassion and justice. Jesus said to Peter three times, “If you love Me, feed My sheep, feed My sheep, feed My lambs.”

This is our commission: to love as Jesus loved.

4.  FOR SPIRIT IN ACTION'S CO-WORKERS

Dear Children of God on the Path of faith:

Never in the history of humankind has there been such an opportunity for us to cooperate with God in re-shaping the history of humankind. We are learning that God’s Presence, Power and Wisdom are available to us NOW. Let us claim it and live it!

Spirit in Action is a world-wide network of God’s people with caring, sharing concern for each other and a purpose, goal and plan which is to cooperate with the Holy Spirit bringing forth Peace, Joy, Health and Abundance to all creation.

God has made us as His instruments and co-creators, so as we take our responsibility to be God’s channels, we are empowered and the fruit of the Spirit is brought forth THROUGH US.

Let us re-affirm today that we shall become God’s Light of sharing, caring partners blessing all those that God brings into our path with examples of Light.

Let us start today afresh in expectancy and by example to cultivate every foot of soil around our homes. Let each husband, wife and child plant and care for our gardens. God has made us as representatives of the Holy Spirit, so by our loving examples we inspire and lead our families and villages into a new life of peace, love, joy and abundance. This is God’s plan and purpose.

God’s loving Spirit of Wisdom and power will help us, but we must, with trust and expectancy, act with patience and perseverance. We shall be victorious, and God shall be manifested and glorified through our faithfulness. Let us take control of our lives and of our destiny!

Spirit in Action is here to pray, guide and assist you. You are God’s key to the fulfillment of His plan for peace and plenty. God will not do for us what we can and must do for ourselves. With faith, let us pledge ourselves to BE GOD’S LIGHT. Let us move forward in this LIGHT.

This reading that came through Del Anderson, is shared at the beginning of each Spirit in Action board meeting.

GOD CALLING . . . YOU
GOD SPEAKS TO YOU, TO ME, TO SPIRIT IN ACTION

By My grace, you have the privilege to be used as My yeast, My salt, to be my quickening Spirit manifested . . . now. For one brief period in history, you may be used to help re-direct the path of humankind and thus change the course of history. If you hear My voice and obey Me, I will use this very small organism called SPIRIT IN ACTION as leaven, as a mustard seed, as Light. Yield yourself to Me, give Me your desires and will, your very self, to be scattered seed, taking deep root in far places on My planet earth. As you obey, I will cause you to die to self and come alive in Me, bringing forth unimaginable abundant fruit.

As you commune and abide in Me, and come into My Spirit-filled Earth Community with brothers and sisters of other lands, you do become My salt, My yeast, My Light. You cannot be total, One and complete in Me until every child of Mine, every lost sheep is brought into My fold. You live by dying, by joyously giving your limited, human, separated sense-of-self for identification, communion and union with Me.

I AM the Jesus Christ individuality within you, stirring, quickening, waiting to be fully released and expressed, brought forth and manifested. Release Me and let Me go forth through you.

A dream has no dimension, no boundaries, no limitations. In Me, you have the Wisdom, Love and Power to be My instrument in bringing My Kingdom into manifestation here and now.

6.  I OF MYSELF CAN DO NOTHING

I certainly wouldn’t have desired to break my hip, but now six months later, I’m certain that I’ve learned a lot that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.  I think it's a little easier now to understand that "I of myself can do nothing”.   I couldn't take the next breath without the Spirit there to keep me going.

This experience has pointed me in the direction of growth.  I am not the Del I was yesterday.  My focus is to come forth as a new person each day and realize that I am an expression of God and that I'm here to let God be God in me, through me, and as me.  I can't eat yesterday's stale manna. Yesterday's manna is not good enough for today.  Manna has to be fresh.  It's an ever-changing world.

As we accept each challenge, each change and seek God's guidance, we open ourselves to receive the Allness of the God consciousness, expressing and coming forth through us.

Meditation, contemplative meditation and prayer are three of God's greatest tools.  The major thing is to let go, be still, listen, and focus and focus.  Let my meditation be to know that my purpose is to keep expanding my consciousness and to let God take over entirely. “God, each day give me a focused desire that wills to will to do your will.” God's Kingdom is within us.  We need to let it come forth, step by step here on earth even at our most challenging times.

Life is not easy.  It's a challenge.

Life is not a destination.  It's a process.

It is amazing to see how God helps us when we start to help ourselves. In my lifetime I have seen miracle after miracle in crisis, in time of great need, when broken persons have done their best and go even a little way in putting their trust in God. God always does the rest. It is almost unbelievable how God helps us when we start to help ourselves.

As we, by our action, say, “Christ, I believe, help Thou my unbelief.” the activity and power of God flows and accomplishes.

The Bible is filled with God’s faithfulness in answering prayer, in caring for God’s own. As we believe and are committed enough to meet God’s conditions through putting His Truth and our faith in action, we can transform the world. As co-workers with God, our part is to act and apply the Truth we believe.

Faith comes to life within us when we initiate action. Jesus said, “If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.”

God’s law is a “get-up-and-do” religion. It promises much and it demands much. It does not teach us that we, because we profess a faith, are excused from expressing and living this faith. Our Heavenly Father is wooing us, reminding us that we are His, that He loves us and wants us to prove our love for Him by doing those things that please Him.

Do we dare to take Jesus at His Word?
Do we dare to put our faith in action?

Letting go and letting God be God
in us, through us and as us

is a process,
not a destination.

Spirit affirms that I am an expression of God.

The answer to all my needs
is to realize my complete dependency upon God
and my complete wholeness in God.

This requires my letting go
of the early bodily consciousness of a child,
learning to walk, talk
and function as human,
needing to learn
I had the power of choice and
had body control expression.

Therefore, I am now learning
that life is a process, not a destination
and now learning the wholeness
of God's process
is a letting go and letting the Spirit,
the Source, express.

This is a daily process
of a period of silence and stillness,
listening prayer
and a disciplined practice and desire
to will to will to do God's will,
and daily focus.

So help me God;
I desire to will to do Your will,
not as a young child saying,
"I'll fix it myself."

ONE WITH GOD'S ALLNESS

I don’t need to make things happen. My part is to let go my fix-it efforts and focus my attention on God, His/Her divine grace activity, energy, and let God’s abundance and health, harmony and wholeness come forth in, through and as me.

Let the All-presence, All-power, All-wisdom, All goodness and All-love of God flow in me and through me. Thus we are co-creators with the Infinite One. I am a part of God and as I trust God and trust the life process and identify with Spirit, I express the wholeness of God.

“Be still and know that I am God.” Not all of God, but one with God’s Allness.

My part is to become God’s peacemaker. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons (and daughters) of God."

Be/do less; rest and listen more. Flowers don’t toil. Limbs attached to fruit trees don’t struggle. The fruit comes forth; it blooms. Our part is to let go and let God’s grace, energy flow. When we wholly desire and will to will to do God’s will, and act as if we believe it, we are released in God’s love. “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”

Terrorism and separation are from fear, that you are not fulfilling, ever-straining, doing, doing without letting go and uniting with the Father/Mother God. In Christ, fear is released and the heart/soul is freed of pressure.

“Our souls are restless until they find their home in God.” (St. Augustine)

“Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His/Her Holy name.”

RECEIVING GOD'S GIFTS

I am learning, “the great power of prayer is not in asking, but in learning how to receive.” Receiving requires acceptance and willing obedience. It requires us to fasten our gaze on the Christ and let (allow) God to re-make us in His image and perfect pattern.

This process of cooperating with God requires us to know ourselves, to appreciate and respect ourselves and to be true to ourselves. We learn to be aware of God’s All-Presence (Lo, I am with you always) to give Him our attention, to see things as God sees them, looking through the outer, transient appearances and conditions, and fastening our gaze on the eternal spiritual reality and truth of His creation.

We learn to turn to and keep our attention on God and draw our feelings from Infinite Life instead of from outer circumstances. We learn to respond to the Eternal “within” instead of being hypnotized by the transient “without”.

Thus, God takes the dimness from our eyes and we hold fast to our oneness in God. We look through the false evidence of separation and look through our false beliefs and attitude of “them and us.” We learn to perceive something of Christ’s potential in everyone. Then the unifying power of Spirit breaks down the barriers of self-centeredness, and Spirit heals the breaches and divisions between us.

God has given each of us His awareness, has empowered us to make conscious choices and has given us the will to act. He cannot change and transform us just through our “seeing” or consciously choosing, unless we also act in willing obedience.

God’s presence is constant, continuous activity of Spirit. As His co-creators, our cooperation is needed to be aware (see), to make conscious decisions and then act.

Then the Kingdom of God is not dimmed and far off, but the Kingdom of God is actively alive within us.

“Listen, stand still and consider God’s wondrous works.” (Job 37:14)

“The Lord will fight for you, so hold your peace.” (Ex. 14:14)

Response to September 11, 2001

This is a difficult moment in which to write. The September 11th bombings seemed to further destroy the hopes of humankind and the building of peace, as the gulf seems to widen daily between peoples.

Using violence, and killing people to prove that it is wrong to kill people, has also proven futile through all of the history of civilization. Throughout history, force has resulted in more and violence. Such response breeds defeatism, fear and despair.

I believe that humans, as transcendent creations of God, have within them the Spirit of God and the capacity to participate in, with, and through our Creator God. Our responsibility is not to lose our willingness to seek the truth and the boldness, firmness and humility to act in the truth. As we hold fast to this consciousness, we cannot despair.

The earth is the Lord's and all that is therein." It is our responsibility as stewards of our creator to act as directed by and through the nature and Spirit of our God.

Great ideas may often be expressed in simple words such as, "All humankind are brothers and sisters from the same Creator." We are not here by chance, but as an individualization of God and in union with our Creator and each other. We each are unique and distinct, one of a kind. We lack nothing and are here to fulfill God's special purpose through each of us for this generation. What a glorious, sacred, holy privilege and responsibility. Let us realize we are needed and important. The time of decision is now.

Del, Fall 2001

Del's prayer in the morning and evening is one he has adapted from John Greenleaf Whittier:

Drop thy still dews of quietness
Till all my strivings cease;
Take from my soul
The strain and stress,
And let the Christ within express
The beauty of thy peace.

SPIRITUALITY AND SERVICE
Being and then doing
Bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth
Making God visible

by Del Anderson

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Teilhard de Chardin

I believe it means for me, “The kingdom of God is within me,” and I need an inner life to learn and experience living from within out. To be aware and consciously choose and act from an inner realization that the secret place of upon high is “Be still and know I am God,” requires a daily quiet time of contemplation, meditation and listening prayer. “Christ in you the hope of glory” (a realization of the God consciousness of freedom and empowerment) is experienced and realized through practicing the Presence of God, living from within to allow Spirit, God to express and manifest through us.

All life is birthed from within, human mother, bird egg, animal, etc. All healing is a process unfolding from within.

Jesus said, “God is Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.” He also said, “Ye must be born again” – of Spirit – and “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all else will be added.” Paul said, “I live, yet not I, Christ liveth my life” (from within).

What a holy, sacred privilege to experience this awakened, new, personal, experiential, knowing relationship with our Creator and Sustainer. Yet, we are presently aware that unless we participate with God’s divine grace and let God express and manifest in and through us, we have not brought forth a sturdy bridge between our inner and outer lives. The expression of our inner spirituality needs to be accompanied by and woven into a seamless God activity, inner and outer.
In the past all too often we have equated spiritual health with acting and feeling good, failing to perceive that our daily unfolding process is to change, grow and trust God’s process. Dag Hammerskjold (former secretary general of the United Nations) said, “In our era the road to holiness must pass through the world of action.”

Jesus said, “If ye would know the truth, ye must do it.” Our modern guides of this road of being and doing were exemplified by Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Albert Schweitzer (medical missionary to Africa),etc., expressing God by being and doing, spirituality and service.

THE PATH OF TRANSFORMATION

¨     Begin right where you are with what you have.

¨     Give thanks to God for the gift of your own special life.

¨     Thank God for family, friends, community and for all that has brought you to this present, holy moment.

¨     Each day, spend time with God in the silence, sensing God's Spirit of love within YOU.

¨     Let go of all that binds and limits you, and sense God's empowering Spirit coming forth within you more and more fully, day by day.

¨     Open to gratitude, expectation and wonder

¨     Recognize that you are a Spiritual being with God's indwelling Spirit activating you.

¨     In the quiet, sense the true needs of yourself, your family, your community.

¨     Lay these true needs before God, opening to God's guidance and empowerment, letting God come forth in every aspect of your life.

THE CHOICE IS OURS by Del Anderson

I am learning, “the great power of prayer is not in asking, but in learning how to receive.” Receiving requires acceptance and willing obedience. It requires us to fasten our gaze on the Christ and let (allow) God to re-make us in His image and perfect pattern.

This process of cooperating with God requires us to know ourselves, to appreciate and respect ourselves and to be true to ourselves. THE DIVINE LAW
OF USING WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE

Jesus is saying to you and me, "Behold I stand at the door and knock," and as true followers, we are saying, "Yes, Lord, yes!"

The Indwelling Christ is speaking clearly and with authority. "All that I have is thine." "Only believe" and use it. Use what you have and it increases and multiplies.
This is Divine Law which never fails. In Chapter 17 of I Kings, Elijah asked the poor widow to bring him a morsel of bread. She obeyed, even though it was all she had. A handful of bread and a few drops of oil, which God, through Elijah, multiplied and the widow and her house did eat for many days. This is faith and obedience to God.

When we listen, God speaks.
When we obey, God acts.

If we desire to develop our physical bodies, we start exercising them, using what we already have. The same principle is involved in all areas of our lives. If we want more of anything, use what we already have at hand.

There isn't any situation in our lives where God does not have a solution for our needs, but we have to reach out and take hold of it. God has the solution as we pray and act, using the ideas He has already given us.

Our first need is to pray and get nearer to God. However, unless we avail ourselves of that which God has already given us, the answer to our prayer is dormant. God waits for us to realize that God has already answered our prayer, and God waits for us to act.               ~ Del Anderson

Beloved child of God:

“The Kingdom of God is within you.”  This is the Good News Jesus Christ brought us.  This is what we must affirm and claim for ourselves ~ over and over again.  Otherwise, He came in vain for us.

Jesus is the great overcomer, All-Power, the King of Kings. There is no other power that can withstand His Light and Love.  He says, “Love your enemies.”  We cannot do this in our own strength, but if we ask His help and release the condition and persons to Him, He will be glorified, and peace and fulfillment will come into our lives.

Remember, “He came, that you might have life and have it more abundantly.”  He, Jesus Christ, is within you!  Listen, listen to Him, ask His help and obey Him and you will see victory begin to come into your life in peace and abundance.  “Only believe and you shall see the glory of God” manifested in your life.

As you read, study, ponder and apply the teachings of Jesus in your daily life, God will bless you beyond your fondest dreams.

                                                                   In His love,

                                                                             Del

THE LAW OF FAITH

FROM DEL’S JOURNAL

¨      Why aren’t more of our prayers answered?

¨      Are we praying amiss, with too little awareness and practice of the law of Faith?

¨      We are told, “The Kingdom of God is within us.”

¨      Is it that the victory of Christ in us is fought and won within?

¨      Is it true, what is won within is won without?

¨      The world says, “Seeing is believing.”  Christ says, “Believing is seeing.”

¨      “Faith is the substance (creative power) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” as yet.  (Heb. 11:1)

Faith IS, NOT SHALL BE!  Faith begins NOW, with the willingness to believe God is able, God is willing, and God is faithful.  In faith, believing is HAVING and SEEING. That which is already evident (seen) does not require faith, merely a willingness and obedience in reaching out and receiving it.

God’s Word says, “Commit thy way unto the Lord, TRUST also in Him and He SHALL bring it to pass.”  “God worketh.”  Commit, trust and He worketh.  This is an unqualified promise of God.

As we are definite in our decision in dealing with God, (pray and commit ourselves to Him) and believe He accepts that which we have given Him, then the results are no longer our responsibility.

To continue to pray and ask for the same thing, weakens and negates our prayer of faith.  It is evident that we are not believing, and thus we pray ourselves OUT of faith.

After committing our prayer, if we begin to waiver and become concerned, then we may affirm, “Lord, I believe You and I thank You.”  It is destructive to faith to go back again and again praying for the same thing, begging God to be God.

It builds our faith as we praise and thank God that He HAS accepted our request.  “He hears us always.”  It is a lack of trust if, after we pray, we are restlessly planning and working for the answer to our prayer.  It is in our confident, restful praise because we believe, that “He worketh.”

We pray ourselves OUT of faith as we center our thoughts on our difficulties rather than on God.  “We which have believed do enter into rest.”  (Heb. 4:3)

Then we are not subject to, and used by our negative feelings, symptoms or our own lack of faith.  Thus we cooperate with God and begin calling the things we have prayed for ours, and thank and praise God for them before they are evident.  God is faithful.  He will not, cannot deny Himself.

Joshua dared to claim a promised victory on the authority of God’s Word, “While as yet there were no signs of the victory being accomplished.”  According to his faith, God did unto him.  The Bible is full of the faithfulness of God as people listened, trusted and obeyed.

Likewise, the same is true of consecration and surrender to God, as in prayer. If we consecrate and re-consecrate over and over again, each repetition discounts the one previously made.

If we give a gift to anyone and return again and again offering the same gift to them, a person would never know if the gift was theirs or not.  Scripture tells us when an offering was once laid on the altar, then it belonged to the Lord and no man dared to stretch forth a hand to re-take it.  After surrendering anything to God, we believe (trust and claim) that He has accepted it, and it is His.

To commit means bringing the matter to God, but it also means LEAVING IT WITH HIM.  Then as we trust, He worketh.  If we fail to leave it with Him, we have negated our commitment.  Commit, trust and God worketh.

“Never dig up in unbelief what you have sown in faith.”  The self-effort evidences lack of our firm commitment.

Trust and obey for there is no other way to let God become a living reality in our lives until we commit, trust and obey.  This is the Law of Faith.  “By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.  (Eph. 1:18)  God wills good for every member of His family.  “It is the Father’s good pleasure to GIVE you the kingdom.”  (Luke 12:32)

Our response must be more than a mental willingness to believe; it must be a FAITH FOUNDED ON GOD’S PROMISES.  And, we need to believe it is God’s will to answer this definite prayer.  Let us then thank Him with honesty and an overflowing heart.  Then our faith is sufficient for Him to work, because we have opened our hearts sufficiently to receive the good He has prepared for us.  “The promise is to you and your children.”  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt” be open to receive God’s good.

As we STAND in faith, affirming, over and over again, “I believe You and I praise YOU” and then in the silence, rest (abide) in the fullness of the Word, every moment of this practice of the Law of Faith is a moment of God’s working in us, whether we feel it or not.

God is truth; God answers prayer.  God wills to answer our prayers of committal.  This is effective, empowered prayer; this brings forth a spiritual anointing.

Commit, trust, depend upon God, resting confidently and expectantly in Him, praising Him despite outer appearances.  Even though we don’t feel it, we affirm and claim it.  “You are in control, God, and You have the solution for our every need.”  As thou hast believed, so be it done unto you.”  (Matt. 8:13)  Let us practice daily in this school of faith, so that we may move into the life of faith.

The victory of Christ in us is first fought and won within us.  The battleground is ourselves.  The victory is the transforming Spirit of Christ.  What is won within is won without.

“In the beginning God ……”  “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound (faith-filled) mind.”

This is the Will of God.
