Tanya Thomas Cothran and Del Anderson.

Spirit in Action was founded in 1996 by Del Anderson to carry on the ministry of loving service that God brings through him.  As Del himself says, "I come from poverty, and despite all my frailties, God's Transcendent Power works through me."

Through determination, persistence and the grace of God, Del was successful in business, and in the course of his life, Del has served God around the world as President and coordinator of Camps Farthest Out International (with a special ministry in self-help projects), and through Boy Scouts International in adult leadership training on every continent.  Del lived in Japan for one year, and has traveled extensively throughout the world sharing God's love and compassion.

At one hundred years old, Del continues his Spirit-led correspondence and sharing with many around the world.  Del has founded Spirit in Action to carry on this ministry of service into future generations.

Administrator

I earned my BA in Geography, with a minor in Spanish, at the University of California, Berkeley (2001-2005). My educational training taught me about sustainable development, sustainable agriculture and world ecosystems. In addition, during my childhood, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with my parents and sister to Australia, Chile, Peru, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and parts of the South Pacific and Europe. Currently, I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I am attending the College of St. Catherine working towards a Masters in Library and Information Science.

I hope these experiences, my spiritual beliefs and my dedication to supporting others will serve as a foundation for my work spreading peace and empowerment throughout the world.

Volunteers

Spirit in Action is greatly blessed with our primary volunteers, Aileen Gillem and B. J. Boone, who volunteer weekly in Alameda CA assisting Del Anderson, mailing out seeds, and keeping the office organized. We are also grateful to our other volunteers who assist with preparing our newsletter for mailing, and technical help in the San Francisco office.
