Spirit in Action was founded in 1996 by Del Anderson (July 17, 1906 – August 20, 2008) to carry on the ministry of loving service that God brought through him. As Del himself said, “It is our joy, privilege and responsibility to transform God’s dream for us into a working, living reality.”
Del was a man filled with compassion and a determination to act. Through persistence and the grace of God, Del was successful in business, enabling him to travel widely. In the 1950s Del became active in Boy Scouts International, living in Omi-Hachiman, Japan for one year.
Del also served God around the world as President of Camps Farthest Out International (1973-83), with a special ministry in self-help projects that later inspired the mission of Spirit in Action. He met and worked with people on every continent, traveled extensively, and maintained these relationships through letters when he was no longer able to travel.
On August 20, 2008, at the age of 102, Del peacefully “graduated with high honors” from this world into a higher potential. We ask you to join Spirit in Action while we carry on Del’s legacy by sharing with others as he shared with each of us and believing that by working together peace will soon prevail on earth.

Del’s Vision for Spirit in Action
This is my dream:
To encourage and support people
To know they are spiritual beings in the world,
And that they can co-create with God
To sustain themselves in the world.
Wherever we go in the world,
We will look for the persons in that area
Who can become a role model for their world.
We will search out and connect with people
Who want to be role models for spiritual living
Which contributes to their total well-being
And to those in their communities.
